Is your intranet an introvert?


Your company intranet should be a key way for your employees to get to know each other better. If you've got Office 365, it's pretty easy to get your intranet speaking to people, and them speaking to each other. Simple tip to get started - use a modern topic-driven communication site template for your home page, which includes a News web part. Use the News web part to post an article about a different employee each week. Be sure to enable comments on the article pages (don't miss the switch at the bottom of the page, and be sure to enable this in your tenant settings if you don't see the option), and encourage everyone to chime in.


This is a simple approach using all 'out of box' components that can instantly make your intranet much more social. You may be surprised to see how connections form when people learn new things about others they may have worked with for years; and of course, when employees have closer connections to their co-workers, they're happier at work, produce better results, and stay with the organization longer.
